Background of Abhaynagar upazila Naming History / Background: Abhaynagar Thana Sadar is established in Abhaynagar Mauja of Baghutia Union after the name of Rani Bhaoya, the daughter of King Pratapaditya of Abhaynagar Mauja on 16 March, 1875.After the assumption of the Ershad government in 1982, the need for decentralization in the administrative structure of the country has become necessary for the socio-economic development of the country.As a result, on 1 August 1984, Abhaynagar Thana got the status of the upazila and now upazila council was established on 5.00 acre of land in Guachhola Mauza of Nawapara Municipality.
